What's The Deal With These Clowns?

Clowns on the loose? Of all things to roam the US, why couldn't it be puppies?

What's The Deal With These Clowns?

As someone who is terrified of clowns, I'm going to tell you right now, the last headline I wanted to ever see was that there are CLOWNS ON THE LOOSE across America. I know clowns have been going through sort of a rough time with the circuses closing down, but I mean this is no way to express their anger! What may seem like an innocent way to scare people during the Halloween season, has turned into one of the most skin-crawling, terrifying news reports I have ever witnessed. 2016 is shaping up to be weirder and weirder every month.

These clowns have been seen in Pennsylvania, South Carolina, New Jersey, Delaware, Texas, and Washington, just to name a few states. Apparently there are people, I'm not sure if these are professional clowns, but people who are dressing up and walking around schools, woods, and towns scaring the crap out of people. As if that's not bad enough, some of them are carrying knives and other weapons.

Since this has become a trending topic people have been talking more about the sightings, and they have become more common. Now, is that because we just want to start rumors, or is it because there is genuinely a large amount of clowns on the loose, I can't say. All I know is, I've been sleeping with my nightlight on and since my windows are open in my room at night, I duck past them so I can't look outside to see someone with a big red nose staring back at me... and I don't mean Rudolph guys.

I don't want to go for runs around my neighborhood anymore, I hate getting out of my car at night or whenever it's dark, and on Halloween if I see any clowns come near me, you best believe they are getting pepper sprayed. I feel like I'm in the movie The Purge. It seems like the sightings are getting closer and closer to where I live and if that's the case, I'm never leaving my house. Now, for a second, this seems like a logical idea. But it's not! We can't let the clowns win! We can't hide away in fear of rainbow colored hair, shiny red noses, and shoes that are just way too large! No! We must unite!

I'm not saying we should all go out and buy clown outfits to intimidate the other clowns, but I think we should just remain calm and if we happen to see a clown, just swiftly walk the other way and ignore it. Odds are, it's someone playing a prank. Just be careful, be aware of your surroundings and don't walk alone at night, unless you absolutely have to! If you feel scared or uncomfortable in a situation, listen to your gut. It's better to be safe than sorry! Stay safe friends!

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
