My new iPhone 7 (Rose Gold) arrived today. Being a iPhone fanatic, I have been so excited for the past few weeks. Unfortunately, after unpacking my new iPhone, I was disappointed. It has a similar size as my iPhone 6, and, unlike the iPhone 7 Plus, it didn't have a dual camera. The only things I noticed that were "innovative" were the removed earphone jack and the altered home button. Dejected after believing I bought the new version of the iPhone for no reason, I researched more ways that the iPhone 7 was creative and different from its previous models. The following are the negatives and positives of the features the iPhone 7 has.
1. Waterproof Phone
The durability of the phone has improved as it is able to last submerged in water for 30 minutes.
2. Extremely Minor Changes in the Display
The iPhone has been surpassed by other phone companies in terms of display feature, yet iPhone is still sticking to its display level of it iPhone 6S. Apple has, on the other hand, changed its display to a certain extent by increasing the peak brightness by 25%, widening the color range, and making better color management. It still does not match up to any of the recent models of the Samsung Galaxies.
3. Faster
The new phone performs 40% to 50% faster than its previous model. However, since the iPhone 6S was already so quick, I do not believe it will make much of a difference to consumers.
4. Photography
The most exciting feature of the iPhone 7 is its improved camera. Even though it does not have the dual camera like the iPhone 7 Plus, the camera of the iPhone 7 has significantly upgraded. The camera has a larger aperture and a four LED flash with warm and cool tones. This means photos will be much less blurry and take warmer picture when using flash.
Overall, I was less disappointed after reading about these improvements. The iPhone certainly has upgraded, but it still is not the innovative, revolutionary product that I was expecting from Apple.
