It is hard to let go, to move on, and to see the end. No one enjoys to see all their time and effort dropped without an explanation. Putting your heart and soul into something or someone takes bravery. It's unnerving to hand someone your heart and mind only for them to put it into the lost and found. What you learn from this, though, is far more beneficial than if everyone was to always cherish you. You learn to retrieve your pride from the trash, scrape off your ego from the road where it was run over and stand up straight because that's all you have left. It's a hard lesson to learn, but not everything you love will always love you back.
Friends drift apart after you have dug into each other's souls together. Ex's drop you like a rock even after all the times you portrayed your love for each other. Passions don't line up with reality and hobbies become bland. Sometimes there is a limit on what hearts hold love for and the sad fact of life is that what you love will cease to be the same towards you.
Our whole life we are told to chase our dreams and go after who we love. No one ever prepares you for the sad truth that your passions and loves will not always feel the same towards you. One day you will wake up and your best friend will ignore you for no reason. Your boyfriend or girlfriend will just simply stop loving you. Your dream job will turn out to suck and then you will be fired. Your art will never be sold for more than $50 and this is just the way the world works. It can break you or remake you, though.
When what you love doesn't love you back you will search deep into yourself to figure out what went wrong or how you can change it. You can't. People change and life keeps going with or without you. So you bury yourself into a new passion or hobby. You throw yourself into a new sea of people to connect with and you keep moving on. It will be hard at first and your whole attitude will have to change in order to be happy again, but it will work out. Bridges may be burned and our soul will weep, but you will rise stronger than ever before.
Love is not always a two way street and some days it comes to a dead end. The wonderful aspect about life, though, is that we are constantly building new roads in order to make up for the ones that failed or were never complete. No need to hold a grudge over what doesn't work out, the heartbreak will pass and the windows of your life will be free of fog once again. Yes, sometimes what you love does not love you back; it is just how it goes. If you let your soul stay open and raw after it is crushed, though, what you never knew you could love will find a new home within you. This is where you being again.
