A Letter To My Parents

Mom and Dad,

This letter is to not only thank you for everything you've done for me, but also to thank you for always being there for me. I know there are a lot of times where I forget to say it or just overlook the help you're providing me, but I truly mean this thank you. I know you deserve more than me ignoring what you do, but I truly appreciate you both for everything.

I want to thank you both for thoroughly believing in me, no matter what I'm doing. There has never been a time when I felt either of you questioned my decisions or my dreams. I have been crazy indecisive lately, especially coming into college and changing my mind about my future a countless number of times. I want to thank you for always sticking with me. Everyone needs their own personal cheerleader, and you both are mine. You never fail to lift my spirits and you never fail to make me feel better about myself. There hasn't been a time when you two have made me feel insecure or inferior. You both thoroughly believe that I can do whatever I put my mind to. You've told me that from the time I started to think about my future, and I truly feel like I believe it. You make me feel like I could conquer the world, and everyone needs someone like that in their life.

I also want to thank you for always being there for me. Being there for me definitely goes hand in hand with believing in me, so I might be overdoing it, but it needs to be said. I know that whenever I need someone to talk to I can go to either one of you. I can't thank you enough for sitting up with me at night crying about grades, boys, stress, and pretty much anything else. I think it's important to have someone to go to with everything, and I'm so thankful that both of you are that person for me. It's extremely comforting to know that I have people to go to at all hours of the day. Even now, living away from you, I know that you both will be there if I need anything. I could call or text at any hour and I know you would be here for me.

At the end of the day, it's so important to have a good relationship with your parents, and I am so thankful that I was blessed with the two of you. To finish this letter, I want to sincerely thank you for everything. More than just believing in me and being there for me, but for every other thing you have done for me too. Thank you for raising me the way you did and thank you for teaching me everything. I can't stress enough how much I appreciate you both. There are so many things I want to thank you for. For now, I'll just tell you that I owe you both the world and you both truly deserve it.

Sincerely,

Your daughter

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
