"College is an investment." I have heard this statement so many times. It is true, and that is why it is annoying. College is not cheap, but groceries can be. If you are currently a college student, make use of this list. If you are almost a college student, refer back to this list. If you are a parent or guardian and your son and/or daughter are about to go off to college, make a copy of this list. Here are some things to get the next time you go shopping for groceries.
1. Granola bars.
They are actually really filling. Drink a cup of water before and after eating one. Make sure to buy them in bulk. It's cheaper that way.
2. Bananas.
I have never met a person who loved bananas. I have definitely met people who hate bananas. Whether you hate or love them, they are on the list of one of the best foods to eat for breakfast.
3. Cereal.
Cereal. You already know. It's a classic. It does not even need an explanation.
4. Milk.
Were you about to eat cereal without milk? You monster!
If you are already in college, it is not difficult to find milk. Do not buy a refrigerator just to keep your milk fresh. Bring a bottle with you the next time you go to the dining hall.
5. Chia seeds.
Besides growing a grassy pet with this item, it is also edible. These seeds absorb liquid. Find some recipes to make chia seeds fun to eat. If you do not care for recipes, just take a tablespoon of chia seeds and soak it in a cup of water or milk.
I swear by this list. If I missed anything, please let me know by leaving a comment. These items can easily be included in a care package. Even the milk. Happy shopping!
