California is one of the most visited states in the U.S., and it's true for good reason. People flood from all over to visit our many theme parks such as Disneyland and to surf our beautiful beaches. I've decided to create a list of amazing Southern California hot spots that are both well-known and good for the locals and tourists! Next time you head out to this beautiful state be sure to add these spots on the top of your list!
1. The Happiest Place On Earth!
If you have never been to DISNEYLAND then you are truly missing out. This is a place where dreams come true and the unreal becomes a true magical reality. Walking down Main Street USA is in itself an exciting experience as Disney characters come flooding through this wonderful place.
2. Venice Beach Freakshow
You might recognize this place from the television show Freakshow! The owners of this twisted place invite you to free your minds and let go of all reality. While inside the Freakshow you may encounter fire eaters, two headed creatures, and other oddities that can indeed become a part of the human body. If you're looking for an interesting afternoon it would be best to attend the Freakshow.
3. Afters
If you're looking to fix that sweet tooth then Afters is the place to go! They offer an array of ice cream flavors and their big headliner is the Milky Bun. This insane creation is a soft glazed donut filled with your choice of ice cream and toppings to go inside this blessing from Heaven.
4. Old Town San Diego

This is one of the coolest places in Southern California! This place is home to rich Mexican-American history and of course the most authentic Mexican food ever! If you're looking for a bite to eat head over to Old Town Mexican Cafe where you can eat the best tortillas I've ever had the privilege to eat. Once you've eaten until your hearts content be sure to walk around and take in the history that floods the streets of Old Town. As you walk, notice the many shops and vibrant decorations. Don't be too scared if you pass the Whaley House, one of the most haunted houses in America.
5. The Wizarding World of Harry Potter
This is literally one of the most amazing places to visit! This place just opened April 7, 2016 and has had major success. I was able to visit myself and I was in literal Heaven. I always assumed Hogwarts forgot to send out my formal invitation so I thought I'd crash the party anyways and I was so glad I did! Nothing can beat the feeling of drinking Butterbeer with your friends and getting fitted for your very own wand! Any Harry Potter fan would agree! Hogwarts and Hogsmeade make up the park currently but it will indeed grow into something even more magical (if that's even possible)!
After reading this I hope you all want to come visit my exciting home of California! Don't forget to always apply sunblock and expect traffic to be at a slow crawl during most hours! See you on the flip side!
