On the campus of High Point University, it is hard to say that you cannot find anything to keep yourself entertained or preoccupied. As a freshman, I am beginning to experience all there is to do in my new home. With this much activity and more, how could you not love the HPU community?
1. Play some games at The Point arcade
If you just feel like relaxing in your room watching a movie or playing a board game with some friends, check out The Point Arcade and inquire about movie and game rentals.
4. Join a club
Attend the campus activities fair at the beginning of each semester to get involved. Even if its the middle of the semester its worth a shot to reach out to any club/organization you express interest in.
5. Chat with a historical figure
Take a stroll down the promenade. Get to know Beethoven as you listen to the classical music playing around you. Want to know more about our universe? Start a conversation with Einstein outside of Congdon Hall.
6. Relax on a hammock or swing
And enjoy the calming noise of the fountains nearby.
7. Hit the gym
If you're stressed work off all your worries...also work on that bod.
8. Soak up the sun by the pool
With multiple pools and hot tubs on campus, HPU encourages work and play.
9. Check out the C.A.T.
The Campus Activities Team (CAT) works diligently to keep students active throughout the school year. Follow them on all social media platforms that way you'll always be aware of whats happening on campus.
10. Eat somewhere new *on* campus
Like The Grille or The Silver Line Diner.
11. Eat somewhere new *off* campus
With over 40 local dining partners, the High Point community proudly supports HPU students.
12. Attend a sporting event
Nothing is better than getting out and showing your school spirit. Be sure to learn the HPU fight song and alma mater.
13. See a show-- any show
Support the members of the chorus, band, orchestra, theater, and more in the beautiful Pauline Theatre.
14. Checkout the bookstore
You never know when new merchandise will be released!!
15. Sign up for a fitness class
Keep in shape with the multitude of fitness classes offered on campus. From Zumba to pilates, there is a class for everyone.
16. Make a new friend
See someone sitting by themselves at lunch? Ask to join them, before you know it you may have a new bestie... or not, that's okay too.
17. Search for Nido
The man himself is said to walk campus with a smiling face no matter how dreary the weather. Get out your binoculars and go searching. If found, he may reward you with HPU gear.
18. Head off campus to Oak Hollow Lake
19. Head north to the Greensboro Mall
Shop 'til you drop. Or until your wallet is empty.
20. Get a campus job
In case you max your credit card after hitting the mall it may be time to search for a job. HPU offers student employment for qualified students. Driving an ice cream truck seems like a neat way to make some cash.
21. Scream for ice cream
Yes HPU does indeed have an ice cream truck that not only has the catchy tune to cheer you up but the ice cream is free!! What more could you ask for? All you have to do is be in the right place at the right time.
22. Search for freebies
Check High Point University's social media platforms on a regular basis as they often will hint to free items around campus. Free things... every college student loves free things.
23. Catch up on some Zzz's
Its as simple as it gets.
24. STUDY
Although you may not want to, you should. If all else fails when trying to find something to do then get ahead. Complete homework assignments and review your notes as much as you can. College is a place for education and your education should come first.
