Although giving birth and bringing a life into this world is so amazing, there's so much that people don't talk about. There are so many emotions that run thru a women's mind set after she gives birth.
No one tells you how you are going to feel overwhelmed. You will be so consumed with trying to balance out being a new parent, that you will get behind on housework. Once you get caught up, you still feel as if there's a million things that STILL need to be done. You are trying to balance out feeding your child, changing thousand of diapers, trying to figure out why they are crying, cook dinner, clean your house, fold laundry, etc. It can become so overwhelming.
Just know that you are doing a great job.
No one tells you how hard it's going to be love yourself again. You will stare in the mirror for hours at time looking at your body wondering why it can't just go back to normal. Your skin will feel almost like rubber because it has stretched so much. Your boobs will no longer be as perky as they once were. Your stomach won't be as small as it was before. You will spend less time getting ready. There will be some days where you’re lucky if you brush your hair or get out of your sweatpants.
You are beautiful, even when you don’t see it.
No one will tell you how this will test your relationship with your husband. How you will get aggravated at times when you feel like you are the only one who does anything, when in reality that isn’t the case. Your sex drive will drop. You won’t feel like hugging or kissing all over him, or him doing it to you. You will instead count down the hours until you can drink a glass of wine in the bathtub by yourself for 30 minutes. You will become insecure. You will wonder if he’s still attracted to the way you look now.
He loves you, and you are 10x more beautiful to him now then you were before.
There will be days were you feel like giving up. Some days you’ll wonder if you are doing enough. You sit and wonder if you are doing the right thing. You’ll sit and cry thinking about your sweet, precious child. They will smile for the first time, and just like that, all is good in the world.
Although no one tells you how hard it may be, remember that your child doesn’t see it that way. Your child sees their mom. A hardworking, loving, wonderful mom. Sometimes you may feel as if you let yourself go, but to them, you are just perfect.
