What Your Recently Used Emojis Say About You

Now that Apple has updated emoji's yet again, they have allowed our recently used selection to represent even more than ever before. We all have our favorite go-to emoji's - for better or for worse sometimes, and carefully selecting these symbols allows us to get our point across without saying anything at all. As the IPhone has become increasingly popular over the years, the emoji has become a language of its own. Naturally allowing us to express our fake emotions a little more clearly. Oh your friend got an A on a test you failed? Wow so happy for you!! [insert smiling emoji so you don't have to bitterly fake congratulate her]. Oh that guy you've had your eye on asked your friend out on a date? [insert thumbs up emoji] lol. If you're deciding to befriend that girl in your new math class, or hang out with that kid on your hall, just check their most recently used emoji's and I'm sure you can quickly decide how you feel about them. Here's a quick breakdown of a few of them that can be particularly telling:

Grinning emoji: They're a lil sneaky, and do what they want. Probably a fun time, but frequently has awkward regrets the morning after a night out, and that results in using this face to lighten the situation.

Dancing girls emoji: She and her girlies are really close. Definitely a cool girl that has her friends back.. Just wondering why the update makes it look like they're wearing bunny ears?

Poop emoji: Become friends with this person immediately - clearly they're hilarious and aren't shy. Definitely guilty of giving TMI, but hey aren't we all?

Weird kissing face: That thing is just creepy - so run.

Face with sunglasses emoji: The definition of swag, and they know it. They do what they want, when they want.

Fire emoji: Clearly an avid Instagram commenter, every white girls dream caption.

Monkey faces: If they're covering their eyes they definitely are guilty of a few questionable things, but still manage to laugh about it. If they're covering their mouth - run for two reasons, either they like gossiping, or they can't keep themselves together when they go out, lol. Covering the eyes - my most used emoji, so I guess y'all can choose how you feel about that.

Cat faces: I don't care which cat face it is, if they're using it then there's a 99.9% chance they're a cat person, which means there's a 100% chance they cannot be trusted.

Beer emoji: Cool, fun and like people knowing it.

100 emoji: If it's a guy, he's probably creepy/weird, run.

Food: Food is good, so they're cool in my book. Def down for a midnight cookout run, or a nice trip to Bojangles the morning after.. Obviously a great person. [extra points for the pizza emoji, ily pizza]

Tongue out emoji: A little sassy and a little flirty, definitely a hit or miss.

Just a few pointers, best of luck decoding your texts/Instagram comments..

P.S. Apple, why no middle finger emoji?\

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
