I'm sure you've heard some version of what happened at the Indian Center, or more commonly known as "The Rez," this past weekend, but now you are about to read real accounts from real people. Just like you (dun dun dunnnnn).
CAUTION: THESE DESCRIPTIONS MAY HAVE BEEN ELABORATED. ALL ACCOUNTS ARE ANONYMOUS.
Person #1: "I just went to The Rez to get pumped for the Miami game. It was gonna be awesome, then everything started getting out of control. There were people trying to drive a bus through where we were partying and everyone was getting really pissed. A few guys jumped on top of the bus and others started to rip off the license plates. Then people started throwing beer bottles at the bus. When the cops showed up in their riot gear that just made things worse. People started throwing full beer cans and bottles at the officers. I saw this full glass bottle of vodka get thrown at a cruiser and it shattered the entire windshield. Cray."
Person #2: "After the police showed up they started to inch forward in a line. People started to panic and run. There were kids getting trampled and beer bottles being thrown. Then, I saw a drunk guy have a last attempt effort at pulling revenge on a cop by throwing his beer can at him. The cop wasn't going to have any of that, and tackled him to the ground. He was hitting him with those stick things until he stopped fighting back, no longer conscious."
Person #3: "Well, when we first got to the Rez the first thing you notice was four charter buses in the middle of the student tail gate area. We asked around, but no one knew why they were there. Eventually people got annoyed with the buses because one of the drivers kept trying to drive deeper into the crowd. People just started throwing beer cans and other alcohol at the buses. Some people believed Miami fans were on the buses which lead to more bottles being thrown.
"Things started to get out of control. People were trying to tip over the busses, then some guy climbed on top of one of the buses and started video taping the crowd. That's when the police showed up. People started to throw beer cans at the cop cars and next thing I know there was a group of cops circling the crowd of students who were tailgating. They wouldn't let anyone into the circle or anyone out of it and you could see cops walking individuals out of the circle in hand cuffs. About ten minutes later we saw the riot. But as soon as we saw the riot police in all their gear, I left."
So there you have it, folks. True stories from attendees.
