Seeing as yesterday was Mother's Day, there is definitely no better time for me to write about the unconditional love for my mom. My mom truly means the world to me; she is not only an amazing parent, but she is also my best friend. I know that I can talk to her about anything and she will always be there for me no matter what the circumstances are.
Even when I mess up and disappoint her, she always forgives me. Whether it was coming home too drunk for the first time, or denting my car, or wracking up an $800 phone bill in Europe, her anger with me never lasts as long as it could, and she treats me with compassion. She has always stressed that no matter what happens in my life, my safety and happiness is what will always be most important to her.
She inspires me every day to be the best person I can be and to be strong, independent and happy with myself. She never fails to congratulate me on my accomplishments, including even the smallest ones, such as getting a good grade on a test. I know that in my mom's heart she truly believes I will accomplish everything that I strive to achieve, and that I will not only make her proud, but myself as well. Even when I've felt hopeless, she has always been there to lift me back up and set me back on track for accomplishing my goals. She has never given up on me and I know she never will. Her positive mindset always rubs off on me and helps me stay motivated.
She has always worked so hard in order to give me and my siblings everything we need. I know that having three kids is not only exhausting, but also emotionally draining and ridiculously expensive. From talking to my mom, though, you would never know that because she never treats us as if we are a burden to her. She always treats us like a blessing.
I know I am not only speaking for myself, but also for both my siblings when I say that I couldn't imagine anyone having a better mom than ours. I can't imagine my life without her and I am so grateful for her and all that she does for me. I know that I am extremely lucky to have the life I do and to have the privilege of living in two incredible cities and getting to attend college. None of that would be possible without her.
It truly is the most amazing feeling to know someone loves you more than anything and will ALWAYS love you that much. Even the closest friendships can sometimes fall apart and people fall in and out of love all the time, but with my mom, I know I always have someone who loves me even if other relationships change and I know I am so lucky to have that. If I am half the woman she is in 30 years, I will be more than happy. My mom has always been and will always be my hero.
