We live and we learn.

As my first year of college comes to an end, I can say that I have learned a thing or two—or at least my parents will hope so. Some things I learned in the classroom, but to be honest, most of the things I learned were outside of it. Like every college student, we get to encounter a couple of things we didn’t have to before until we started our first year. And, if you decide to not only start college but do it on a different, completely opposite state to the one you were living in, you get to learned and experience a couple of others things too.

Some of the things I’ve learned have been from trial and error. Lots of error. But, let’s be honest, that is the only way we all know how to. Sometimes it was a smart move, sometimes not so much. But hey, live and we learn.

So, here I will leave you 8 things I have learned from my first year at college:

1. If you go to school in a place with cold weather, ALWAYS check the weather in the morning, is never a smart idea to just “wing it”.

2. Home cook meals will become a luxury.

3. There is no such thing as free-time, you just learn to make up your own.

4. You know that if you decide to do nothing one day, you will be doing homework and studying all day, the following day.

5. Most of the time, the classes that take attendance are the ones you do nothing on, but force you to go.

6. If you have a good roommate that you like, your life will be 100 times easier and happier.

7. Early morning classes on Fridays are a terrible idea and you don’t want to do that to yourself.

8. If you don’t see your friend for more than a day or two, it will feel like you haven’t seen them in forever.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

The Importance Of Being A Good Person

An open letter to the good-hearted people.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
