From pretty much growing up with "The Office," 9-year-old me waited to watch it once a week because, unlike 19-year-old me, I couldn't just watch five hours worth of it on Netflix. Maybe it was from growing up next to Scranton or pretending that as a child I understood all the jokes like my parents did, but I loved it.
Being that I was a a self-proclaimed hopeless romantic since the fifth grade, from the very start I was really rooting for Pam and Jim to get together. That, and I also knew even at a young age that John Krasinski is a national treasure, so naturally I was invested in it. Looking back at it, I'm actually really happy about their relationship, because I think they were such a good couple for young kids to be looking up to, and I've learned a few lessons from them.
1. Sometimes you just need to tell someone how you feel.
2. But you still have to understand that sometimes those feelings won't be reciprocated.
And you have to respect that they don't have those same feelings. You can always follow Jim and move to a different state.
3. Love might take a while.
And you might just be friends with the other person even while they're engaged to someone else, and that's okay.
4. Everything won't be perfect all the time.
Sometimes, things just won't work out in your favor, and sometimes your veil will tear right before your wedding, but you'll get through it.
5. Take some time to remember the little things.
They won't last forever.
6. It's okay to feel like you aren't good enough sometimes.
As long as you always remember that you are good enough afterwards.
7. Don't waste your time doing things and being with people who don't make you happy.
You're in charge of your own life, so you might as well make the choices that make you happy.
