While these things are pretty obvious, here is what I wish I had known earlier in life.
Enjoy every year of your life. Do not anticipate the next year or future years. Enjoy the year you are in now. Enjoy every single moment, because those moments go by fast and, as cheesy as it sounds, before you know it you will be 22 wishing that you were 16 again.
In lieu of enjoying the moment, learn to find the good in the bad times. Whether it's a bad hair day, a flat tire, money issues, or even heartbreak, try to see the positive. There is always a lesson to be learned and because of that bad moment you are stronger and wiser.
When you start college, you think you have all the time in the world to goof off and party, but remember that you only have four years. So, yes, go enjoy being with friends but remember to find a balance between socializing and studying. Try to be super involved, get an internship, or volunteer somewhere. It is a great resume builder.
Eat healthy and stay active. Of course, enjoy time with your friends, and enjoy the late night munchies, but try to do active things, too. Go hiking, take dance classes, go out on bike rides, take cooking classes. The freshman 15 is not just a myth, it actually happens!
Make friends! They are people to have fun with, but they can also be your support system and your kick in the butt when you need one.
Do not procrastinate. The longer you put things off the higher the likelihood that you will not end up doing it. Do it now, there is no point in waiting.
