Nobody will fully understand just what goes on in politics unless you're in the "inner circle." There is so many things that are wrong with politics in this day and age that I don't even know where to begin.
Lets start with the President.
Now i'll be the first to admit that President Obama has at times get unfairly judged during his time as President but the past week has been very disappointing. Recently Louisiana had a devastating flood that has ruined homes and torn families apart. Instead of going to Louisiana to visit the devastation that has been called the worse natural disaster since Hurricane Katrina, he is on vacation and isn't cutting his vacation short to visit. Now an argument for President Obama not visiting the wreckage yet is that him going to Louisiana isn't going to fix the damage to peoples homes but him going would help with the damage of people's hearts. You're the President of the United States, when the American people need you, you drop everything and go. Especially when you're in your final term. Trust me, the golf courses won't be going anywhere anytime soon.
The corruption seems to be at a all time high.
This election year has been one unlike any other. Elections are suppose to be about policies and who seems to be best fit for the position. This year it was full of corruption (Democrats) and personal attacks (Republicans). The corruption on both sides seem to be at a level unlike any other. Nobody in the house or senate seems to want to get anything done. For example, President Obama appointed Judge Merrick Garland to fill Justice Scalia's vacant seat on the Supreme Court. Republicans have the majority in the house and senate so it was an uphill battle from the start for Judge Garland to be confirmed by congress. What Congress has done with this whole situation is embarrassing. Congress won't even give Judge Garland a hearing. If you don't want to confirm him to the supreme court, just give him a hearing and deny the confirmation. It just shows that politicians aren't politicians to actually bring change, they're only in it for the exposure and pay check.
All the corruption brings out people who will try to scare you.
Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders didn't have much in common during this campaign season but the one thing that they both did was strike fear in their supporters. They use scare tactics as a way to get elected and they both did this successfully. These two candidates were able to start real grassroot campaigns without the use of lobbyists' money. But candidates like this is what happens when Washington D.C. is corrupt. You get candidates that have these big, radical ideas that would transform our country. Whether if it is "free" college or the mass deportation of immigrants here illegally, these ideas go against everything this country has ever believed in and the only reason for it is the corruption going on in D.C.
This election will go down in the history books as the most outrageous political season in U.S. history. You don't know what the Republican nominee Donald Trump is going to do. He is a wildcard, one day he can say how he wants to fix the economy and the next day he is saying the Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton founded ISIS and are the MVP's. Hillary Clinton is more of the same in Washington. She is the definition of corruption and would be more of the same that goes on now if she gets elected. I for one haven't decided who I am going to support this election year and there is many people in this country that are thinking the same way.
