What I Have Learned From Bible Study So Far

Everyone is going through something, but at least we have God and each other.

What I Have Learned From Bible Study So Far
Alexandra Martin

I started going to a small group Bible study within my sorority. Truthfully, I was nervous at the beginning because I wanted to develop stronger friendships. I knew that this would be a step forward to understanding more about God and Jesus.

Bible study has shown me that everyone has something going on each week. There is always something someone needs to be prayed about. There is always something that we can be thankful for. Someone is probably struggling with something like you are. It has really put a lot of things into perspective. The saying "you can't judge a book by its cover" really is true.

I've also learned that I don't know everything, especially when it comes to the Bible. This isn't a bad thing, though. It makes the conversations a lot better and helps me to really think about what each of the verses is actually saying. I never feel judged when I am at Bible study, which makes the experience a whole lot better.

Our leader has given us many opportunities to talk about our different fears. Although this might not sound good, it has allowed us to realize that we have each other and God. I have learned that we have to trust that God's plan for us is greater than we can imagine. We have to trust in Him. I think that this Bible study is a good start to becoming a true follower, and I'm so excited for more growth.

I've become so much closer to the girls in my Bible study. Some of us recently went to go get tacos together before a church service. It honestly is one of my favorite memories of this past semester. I was surrounded by people who are wanting to learn more about God and who love me for who I am. They were welcoming me with their arms wide open, and I've never had many friendships like that. It made me feel loved and welcomed, which is what it should always feel like.

I'm so excited to see where the next two years take this group. We all have some amazing thoughts during our discussions, and it has helped me grow as a person and a follower of Christ. This is a thank you to everyone in my Bible study who has always been there for me. You guys really are amazing.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
