What the hell ABC Family (or should I say Freeform)? Let us start with that. I have some issues with you at the moment. What has happened to 25 Days of Christmas? Tell me, do you hate Christmas now?
Yeah, you still play the old classics a few times at least (usually at odd times like the afternoon or three in the morning but at least my parents have a DVR) but please tell me how is "Frozen" a Christmas movie? Is it the snow? Or the fact that is was popular and you are selling out?
Let's look at this lineup and see how many non-Christmas movies we got.
Hm, "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory?" "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory?" You got one so why not both.
All the "Toy Stories?" (Andy doesn't even get Buzz for Christmas but for his birthday).
" Happy Feet." Snow. "Happy Feet 2." More Snow.
We also have the barely Christmas movies and the Christmas movies that are just awful.
"Just Friends" is just awful and I don't know who decided that "The Holiday" was a movie anyone wanted to see more than once. I have never seen "I'll Be Home For Christmas" but the picture you provided me with does not make me want to see it. I will admit I love "Jingle All The Way" even though it is not technically what one would call a 'good' movie. "Santa Paws," is good I guess for brain numbing the five year old's.
And then there are the movies you paid for with b-list actors and vomit inducing plots.
"Holiday in Handcuffs," "Snowglobe," "Home Alone: The Holiday Heist," "Christmas Cupid," and the one I hate the most, the one that makes me shiver in disgust, "Santa Baby." (the song freaks me out as well).
One of the things I am most angry about though is what you have planned for Christmas Eve. Christmas Eve should be entirely reserved for stop motion animation classic Christmas movies. You used to but then you took it away from me. It was what I did on the Christmas Eve. I would watch every movie produced by Rankin and Bass and make cookies during the commercials. Now you are playing "Scrooged" for the 4th time. Where has your Christmas spirit gone?
It feels like a commercial decision. That you are picking blockbuster movies and movies that you know will draw and audience (you seem to be boasting a lot that this is the network premiere of "Frozen" like almost every child hasn't seen the movie yet). Christmas is already commercialized enough, please don't make it even more so. Don't kill the last little bit of hope that I had for Christmas time that didn't focus on money and presents. I have a nightmare of one day when I'm old, the stop motion animations won't be played at all anymore and all the young children will think "The Santa Clause" is the best we have to offer them.
I could also just be mad because "Rudolph's Shiny New Years"is only in the lineup once. ONCE. That is not okay. But also, bring back actual Christmas movies please.
