11 Things Every College-Aged Girl STILL Thinks About Every Day In 2019

Most girls know that their mind is racing almost 24/7 about almost anything and everything. But do guys really know what is going though a girls mind?

Food

Yes, food. We are always thinking about food. What we are going to eat for dinner in two days or what snack we are going to eat once you are out of your history class. Food is always on the mind, but we just don't like to show it. That is why when we get surprised with food we are so happy about it.

How we look

I know I just got done saying "Girls like food!" but we also think about how we look all the time. "Do I look ok?" "Does this fit right" "If I eat this will it be ok?" "How long will this breakout last, and how can I hide it?".

And guys saying "Don't worry about all that you look perfect/good/cute," it helps really. But some of us girls still have those thoughts even after being told these things, so if we say thank you but it seems like we don't really mean it, it is because we still don't believe it ourselves. So keep saying it because it will get through at some point.

Weddings

Every girl has mentally planed their wedding at least twice (unless you are like my friend she has three of her own and has planned two different ones for me). It is just something we like to do — its fun scrolling through Pinterest getting all your ideas ready so when the time comes you wont be in a panic. All you will have to do is pull up the Wedding Board and bam! You are ready.

Guys: do not be scared if you see the Wedding Board on her phone. Just breath, this is not a sign she wants you to pop the question (unless it has been about five years and things are well then maybe its a sign), sometimes girls need to get their minds off of things and wouldn't you rather her be laying in bed looking at wedding ideas than going out and drinking or doing things that might not be the best? Plus it is fun for girls to do this so just chill out.

Babies

Again, guys do not freak out — this is just a girl thing we do. Most girls like babies and ever since they were young they have thought about having on of their own which includes names, yes names. So guys if your girl has had baby names picked out for years who do you think will win who will name the baby game? Maybe you can see if you can have two middle names instead of one, but us girls have been thinking out names and what sounds good with what for years.

Baby clothing

Along with picking the out the name girls have been planning on when they will have a real baby that they can dress themselves in any style they want — guys will just not win this one.

Caffeine

We are always thinking about where we are getting our next dose of caffeine. Either by coffee, tea, energy drink, or everything in one. If we don't get the caffeine, we will become a walking angry zombie.

"Are we good enough?"

Girls feel that we could always be doing better in pretty much anything you can think of. Literally anything that comes to mind a girl somewhere has thought they could do that thing better.

"Will they accept our flaws?"

Any girl who is in or starting a relationship is worried if that person will accept them for the good and the bad, especially girls who have some type of a mental illness. First, they don't know how to bring up that they have the illness, but also when they finally do tell the person how they will react will they stay or leave running?

Guys this is how you help.

1. Do not run: this will just mess her up even more and she will think negatively about herself.

2. Try to understand what she is going though. Look up the illness learn about it.

3. Be there for her when she is having a hard time. Some girls just want to be alone that's when you give her space. Some don't want to be alone but they don't want to talk about what's going on. That's when you sit with her and watch TV or moves and just chill with her so she knows you are there for her.

"What is going to happen to our favorite character?"

This has kept me up at night before, continuing watching a show because something happened to my favorite character or reading until the early morning because I just have to know what is going to happen to them. This is a real thing that keeps girls up we build this relationship with a character and if something bad is about to happen we have to know what happens next. If you are unable to know what happens until next week it can bring running thoughts about what might happen to your favorite character.

Vacations

Girls love vacations and they plan on places they would like to visit. Some like amusement parks, oceans, the mountain, hikes, park. Even if it isn't far from home as long as they are doing something that isn't in there normal day to day life could be seen as a vacation.

Personally I like warm places so really any warm place works for me but the ocean is my favorite. I am always thinking about the ocean no mater the season because that is just how much I enjoy it.

So guys: figure out the girls favorite place and surprise her with a trip. It doesn't have to be anything fancy just something that shows you are listening. If the place they like is on the other side of the country try to find something near you that would resemble the place she enjoys.

"When will things be good?"

All girls want in life is to be happy with the things they want in life (family, house, cats, dogs, garden) with people they enjoy being around. We feel like the time will never happen but people tell us it comes and not to worry, but we get so impatient we feel it will never come.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
