What Your Favorite Friends Character Says About You

Anyone who loves the show Friends has had to undergo the struggle of deciding which of the six lovable group members is their favorite. In my opinion, once you have thought it through, and come to a conclusive decision, whichever of the bunch is your true favorite, that choice says something interesting about who you are in the deepest sense of yourself.

If your favorite is Rachel (Jennifer Aniston):

Rachel Greene is the holy grail of perfection in the way that she is a little crazy but at the same time so incredibly cool, all without trying to be. She is stunning, hilarious, sometimes vapid, a little vain, but also genuine. Choosing Rach as your favorite means that you have a flair for fun, like things that look pretty and you too may be a true sweetie.

If your favorite is Monica (Courteney Cox):

Monica Geller, in competition only with her brother, is probably the most driven and hardworking character on the show. She always wants to be the best, which sometimes helps and other times (and probably more often) hinders her endeavors. She is a perfectionist: a quality we sometimes find cute and lovable, and other times find incredibly annoying. If Monica is your number one, it means you value smarts, hard work and being the best. She is, literally considering her youth as a big girl, a self-made woman who is gorgeous and clever. While her vulnerable side is not the one she likes to showcase, it is her imperfections that make her more perfect.

If your favorite is Phoebe (Lisa Kudrow):

Phoebe Buffay is the biggest oddball of the group, without question, but it is what makes her who she is. She is so completely herself all the time, and it's a quality no one can help but admire and adore. She makes us all laugh, but she also has moments of profundity that can make us think. If Pheebs is your favorite, it means you like to laugh, you care for others and you want to enjoy life's little pleasures. She's a true gem.

If your favorite is Joey (Matt Le Blanc):

Joey Tribbiani is definitely the goofiest of the group. Like with Phoebe, we can always count on him for a laugh, not out of wit, but out of silliness. Joey is someone with a huge heart, and though he may not treat the women he dates very nicely all the time, he treats his family and friends like gold. If Joey is your favorite, it means you too share a strong love for those closest to you, you love to be silly and you have a big heart. And also probably you're very into food.

If your favorite is Chandler (Matthew Perry):

Chandler Bing is the wittiest, most snappy member of the bunch. We always expect him to hit us with a good joke -- well, usually good jokes -- but when they're not great, we still laugh because he's always funny. He is the character who gets the most grief, without a doubt, but it adds to his charm in a lot of ways. If your favorite is Chandler, it means you're probably a little bit of a trouble-maker, a bit quippy, but also freaking great, like Chandler.

If your favorite is Ross (David Schwimmer):

Ross Geller is arguably the smartest of the six friends. He is kindhearted, and the classic example of a "good guy." He sometimes makes us laugh with his naivety, but his sweetness warms our hearts. He can get on our nerves, but at the end of the day we will always love him. If Ross is your favorite, you value intelligence, kindness and some of the little ticks that make you who you are, and make Ross who he is: a little strange but another gem.

Whoever your favorite may be, they're all fantastic choices. Truly, I love them all.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
