What Every College Kid Is Saying By The End Of The Semester

We are all so done.

With only a few weeks left of school, that familiar summer itch is back, stronger than ever. Students everywhere are counting down the days, hours and minutes until they turn in their last paper, finish their last exam and walk out of their classroom doors to freedom. But, because it is still a few miserable weeks away, everyone is starting to lose their cool. And with the last minute cramming, extra projects and forgotten assignments coming up, there are a few things that every college student in America is currently thinking. At any given point during the day, the following things can be heard on a college campus:

1. I am so done.

We say this in defiance, but have zero follow through and this is normally followed by another three hours of studying.

2. Literally I can't even.

Can't even what you might ask? We don't even know. This could be in relation to a 10-page paper we haven't started or the dining center being out of our favorite type of cereal. Doesn't matter, the point is we can't even.

3. My professors are crazy and they only enjoy my sadness.

No, of course one more paper is no big deal. You just forgot to tell us about it? Well, maybe I'll just forget to do it.

4. The weather is getting so nice! It would be great if I could actually enjoy it.

We say as we stomp off to the library, aka, the dungeon of sadness.

5. I need summer. Seriously.

Our hopes and dreams all linger on summer coming as fast as possible because if we don't get a break soon, we might actually lose our sanity.

6. I have zero cares about anything anymore.

This is 100 percent true. Laundry? Who needs clean clothes? Homework? Who needs to pass these $1000 classes? Eating? Well, we still care about that.

7. I just need to go home, working sounds better than this.

This is a lie we tell ourselves to try and forget the fact that the minute school is over, we all have to return to full-time jobs to try and support ourselves for another semester of hell.

8. Is it too late to drop a class?

Be real; we've all considered this.

9. If I just get through this week...nope, they are all going to be terrible.

We try to convince ourselves that some weeks will be easier than the rest, but this is also a lie. The next few weeks will be miserable, each in their own unique and special way.

10. There's no way I'm getting all of this done.

But we know we will, even if it means skipping sleep, meals and other necessary, life supporting rituals.

11. I'm dropping out.

The most tempting idea of all. Despite the months of hard work, we still like to imagine that dropping out is an option. After all, money isn't necessary to be happy right? Just follow our dreams? Well, my dream is not studying for the next five weeks, so peace out.

Despite all of the upcoming stress, misery and tears, keep going! Only a few more weeks till freedom is ours.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
