What Do You Mean?

Relationship over religion.

What Do You Mean?

What do you mean you’re a Christian?

You mean that you don’t have sex until your married?

Do you mean that you're so perfect now cuz all of your sins Jesus carried?

You mean that you can't go out to a bar and have drinks with your friends?

That you can't listen to music that makes you want to throw up your hands?

Do you mean that you're required to go to church every single Sunday?

And that singing hallelujah and speaking of the Bible is your idea of a fun day?

What do you mean God is real he gave my sister cancer?

You mean that he actually cares about us when he holds us in this volatile canister?

What do you mean God’s real? Why would he do this to me?

You mean that I can't go to parties and be free?

Do you mean as a Christian you have to give up masturbation?

That I have to stop saying "yes" to every good sensation?

You mean I can't make out with my girlfriend whenever I want?

That I can't speak freely with curses and taunts?

Do you mean that if I make a ton of money, I am a sinner?

That I am wrong because all I want to be is a winner?

What do you mean you’re a Christian, you mean you're happy and peaceful all time?

Oh so you’re a Christian…so you're that wicked religious kind?

Well…no.

Im just a normal kid.

Im just normal kid in aww of what Jesus did.

You see I became in aww once I started looking past rules.

See rules are made because, let's be honest, we are all fools.

When someone tells us we can't do something, that’s all we want to do.

Jesus gave us these guidelines just to honestly protect me and you.

Religion is something to me that is outdated.

A relationship with Jesus is something that will never be faded.

When I looked past these rules it was then I could answer these questions.

These questions that I can tell you honestly separate you from the heavens.

Alright it's time for me to answer them, and the answer to all of them is there is no answer to being free.

Calling ourselves Christians we are simply admitting that we are anything but free, because I don’t always win when the devil tries to tempt me.

The answer to those questions? Open up the Bible and interpret it for yourself.

What I have found is that we are all spiritual prostitutes with sickened hearts just craving for attention.

So quick to judge, so easily seduced, so controlling and so jealous...just a few I can mention.

So what do you mean I am Christian?

I mean I've unplugged from rules and fallen in love with Jesus.

We may stumble, but he is there with us.

I mean that he is the way, the truth and the light.

What do you mean you’re a Christian? I mean I am fighting the good fight.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
