What I Could Write About

Writer’s block is a weird thing

I could write about how this week has tested my mental capacity and how much caffeine I can consume in one sitting.

I could also probably write about the fact that I believe whole heartedly that a tomato should be labeled as a vegetable regardless of whether it is a “fruit” or not.

Maybe I could also write about how I make my big and little list soon.

Then also I could tell you that we had a chocolate fountain in the café today and it made my whole entire week.

Then I could talk about how psychology is not only kicking my butt but also giving me great friends since we are all struggling together.

Then there is the topic of that the fact that we starting the month of November at 80 degrees.

Maybe after that you could laugh with me about the fact that I am training a beta fish to play soccer in my lab (I swear, this is not a joke).

You could then ponder with me why being barefoot in class at Belmont is a normal everyday occurrence.

You could also ponder with me why spilling food on my shirt has become an everyday thing.

Then you could also join me in celebrating that Alabama football is still undefeated.

I could also discuss with you how I am really looking into studying abroad and how quickly the deadline on whether I am doing it or not is quickly approaching.

Then I could write about how I am trying to learn how to write in calligraphy.

We could talk about the election that is coming up that has me wondering how we got here.

I could write about how Little Mix and the Last Five Years soundtrack have been on constant repeat and I’ve loved every second of it.

But you know what? I am not actually going to write about any of this because for the past two weeks I have had the ultimate case of writer’s block. Although this is the case I hope this list gives you either a laugh or a quick little look into my weird life and thoughts. So, for anyone out there who is experiencing writer’s block as well, thank you for joining in the struggle with me.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
