Life tends to get especially hectic when the holiday season rolls around. For some, there are finals to be finished. For others, work deadlines that need to be met. Seeing family. Buying Christmas presents. Snow. Lack of snow. Getting a Christmas tree. Sometimes it seems like worrying is at an all time high. We seem to get lost in the whirlwind of it all. Within all the stress about the Christmas season, many forget what this great holiday celebration is all about: the birth of Jesus Christ.
Our society seems to be so wrapped up in the idea of whose schedule is the busiest, who gives the best presents, and who gets the best presents. What we should be focusing on is the One who gave us the greatest gift of all as a babe in a manger. Mankind was given a second chance with His coming. Where would we be without Him?
The birth of Jesus can be celebrated in many different ways. Some examples include spreading joy by doing a good deed, spending time with loved ones, helping out those who need it most, giving thanks to God, and just reveling in our blessings. It doesn't require a drastic change in your life, but try to remember that this season is about Him.
"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." Romans 15:13
