When you're 18 a break-up can be devastating, and it takes us some time to realize a person who can't see your worth is not worth crying over. Besides, exes can teach you valuable lessons without even trying.
People spend entirely too much time (me included) on crying over their exes. More time than they probably deserve. But heartbreaks don't have to be all bad. Heartbreaks teach you that you deserve better. They teach you what you do not want in your future partner. You can discover that you are actually ok on your own. You're single and you're OK.
I get it. You need that time to be sad and maybe even angry, but you have to see the good in your heartbreak. Your break-up can be the best thing to ever happen to you, you just don't know it yet. This heartbreak can teach you about your own self-worth. You are worth more than you know and way more than your ex thinks. This heartbreak can be a blessing by putting a stop to wasting your time on the person you are not supposed to marry. You should be in awe at the fact that God can have someone out there for you that you'll love even more and this time that love will be returned. And you will still be enough.
I know a heartbreak still hurts, but just remember God has that person out there that is better than you can even dream of.
