What Books Should You Read This Summer?

Whether you're in to reading or not, why not try to tackle a new book this summer? Reading is a gateway to a new world when you're trying to escape your own. If you need to relax after a long day of work, instead of turning on Netflix and binge watching a new show, try grabbing a book and relaxing in a new way. Reading isn't just something that you have to do to pass the time or when you have assigned reading for a class, it's something that can actually be done for fun. There is nothing better than starting a new book and being excited to read it every time you pick it up. If you're wondering what to read this summer, look no further.

If you're into Romance:

Sometimes it's hard to resist the romance novels that have us swooning over the main characters, hoping they'll end up together. The novel by Beck Wade, "A love Like Ours"will not disappoint when it comes to finding a perfect romance book. When Jake, a former marine with PTSD, is reunited with his childhood friend Lyndie it is hard to deny this chemistry that is still between them years later.

If you loved "The Notebook," "Me Before You" and "Safe Haven," this book will also leave you wanting to read it over and over again.

If you're into non fiction:

If you love Amy Schumer, which let's be honest, how could you not? "The Girl With The Lower Back Tattoo" is the book for you. Amy is a growing inspiration to several women with her love for herself and teachings of how to love your own body by being happy in your own skin. In Schumer's latest book, she discusses her personal life, love life and stories from her youth. The book doesn't hit shelfs until August, so be sure to pre-order this one and add it to your reading list.

If you're into Fantasy:

If you're really looking to venture into a new world while reading, fantasy is the genre for you to jump into. There are an endless amount of good fantasy books to read but if you're looking for the best, "Harry Potter" is definitely at the top of the list. With magic, werewolves, magical beasts and great friendships, this serious will not disappoint.

If you're a fan of the TV show "Game Of Thrones," instead of binge watching every single option, try binge reading every single book instead and then watching the shows. Look for all the comparisons, and here's a plus: you won't be shocked about what is going to happen in every episode.

If you're into Memoirs:

Memoirs aren't always the most exciting to read. Sometimes, they can provide an insight to another life and leave you with a new perspective. In "My Name is Malala: The Girl Who Stood Up for Education and Was Shot by the Taliban" your eyes will be opened to a difference in cultures, and see through the eyes of a young girl who wanted an education. Malala refused to be silenced by the Taliban in Pakistan and spoke out against them and proceeded to do what she thought was right for her and so many others in her town, country and world. If you're looking to read something that will leave you wanting to change the world, look no further because this book is the one you need.

I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
