Have you made your list yet?

What Are Your New Year's Resolutions?
Sarah McKalip

It's about to be that time of year again where people start making New Year's Resolutions, varying from growing closer to God and those and around you and getting back in shape. New Year's Resolution are a great way to kick off the new year. Improving the new year from the year before. However, I personally don't think we have to wait until the new year to start getting better and improving. We can read our bibles more now, we can grow our friendships more now, we can get back in the gym now, so why do we wait until the first of the year, and then in a few months forget our resolutions? I think we can make resolutions every day, one step at a time, to better ourselves and to better the world around us to make it a better place. Each day we can make small lists of great things to do for the bettering of those around us.

However, I do like to make a list at the beginning of each new year to see growth in my own life. Last year I made a new year's resolution to try new things and I would say I have tried more new things than in year's before, it's great to see resolutions and things wanted to accomplish become a reality.

I want to take this article to not only encourage you to make a New Year's Resolution list this year but to hang it up somewhere where you can look at it every day and remind yourself of your resolutions to keep them every day. However, I also want to encourage me and those reading to make small lists of ways to just better yourself and to help someone else.

I am excited for this year and to work on making my New Year's resolutions list. I don't think it will be real long this year but I am excited for the changes that the New Year will bring. There are always changes, and it's the small changes that eventually amount to the large ones. As of now, my resolutions would be to grow closer to God, closer to friends, to get back in the gym, and to get a great Journalism job. This list is short but I think if I can complete just the first one, I will be in great shape with all of the others following.

So what are your New Year's resolutions? Getting closer to God? Being more joyful? Getting out and about more? The lists go on, however, think of something fun and exciting to make your year a little better, try to accomplish it, work on bettering the world, making it a better place. Because New Year's resolutions are about become better! That is the goal and that is why we make this list year in and year out, for our own good and for the good of others around us!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
