I Went Organic And I Will Never Look Back

No, we're not annoying people.

I Went Organic And I Will Never Look Back
Andrea Gordon

On May 6, 2017, my family and I made the decision of going organic. It was a sporadic decision, but I’m glad we made it.

Prior to going organic, I was very conscientious about what I ate and drank. I haven’t touched McDonald’s or Burger King in 4 years and I’m proud. Going organic wasn’t hard for me, as I rarely, and I mean rarely, eat fast food. My family and I eat the same foods that we used to, just the organic versions of them, and they taste so much better! I wish I made this decision earlier in life.

We need to realize what you put into your body, is what you get out. If you constantly put in processed or genetically modified food (food that had been altered in any way) all you’ll get out is laziness.

There’s a lot of stereotypes surrounding those who are organic. People think that we’re annoying “tree huggers” because we choose to take care of our bodies. People say that only rich people can be organic because organic groceries are too expensive. Organic groceries and products aren’t more expensive than the others. I’ve actually found that the prices are similar, or a little cheaper. These stereotypes can go on and on.

If you’re able to go organic I think you should. It’s a decision that you will love, and your body will thank you. Don’t shame people you know for deciding to go organic.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
