Seven Weird Things Sorority Girls Do

1. Wear matching outfits.

Sorority girls love to wear matching outfits, especially during recruitment. Eighty girls wearing mint peplum tops and white pants — talk about freaky.

2. Make signs with their hands.

Whatever chapter you are in, you have a hand sign that you will get the urge to constantly throw no matter where you are.

3. Craft

Once you join a sorority, it seems as though you turn into Martha Stewart — anything and everything will be crafted.

4. Chant songs in unison.

Every sorority has songs that they learn for recruitment, and we like to chant them as potential new members walk in the door.

5. Make videos of themselves dancing.

Sorority girls love to dance in circles to "Cheerleader" and record it.

6. Live for themes.

Toga party, Wacky Wednesday, Blackout theme ... you name it, sorority girls love it.

7. Yell about being a Big/Little to every passerby.

Sorority girls are OBSESSED with their families, and OMG this is my Little, have you met her yet?!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
