8 Weird Things You Find At The Bottom Of Your Purse

My purse is my life. And my life is in my purse. I literally carry everything with me, just in case of any kind of life emergency. My purse is so big with many compartments, I only notice the biggest compartment. Everything that is very important is at the top while things that I tend to forget is the abyss. So one day, I decided to clean out my entire purse and to my surprise, I found some things that I totally forgot about.

I was so amazed by what I had found, I called my sisters and challenged them to do the same. They all came over to my house and we dumped out our purses together. All of our belongings in one pile, we sat back and laughed, amazed by all of the unnecessary junk that has taken over my living room floor. Then, I had a bright idea to make a list of all of the things we found while giving a reason why we put that item in our purse in the first place.

Here is what we found:

Hair Supplies

(Travel-sized Flat Irons, Brushes, Combs, Hair ties, Hair Clip-ins, Mini-Hairspray, and oddly a bottle of Semi-Permanent Hair Dye)
You never know when you will need to touch up your hair while on the go.

Old Makeup

(3-year old Lipglosses, Foundation containers, cruddy Eyeshadow palettes, dusty Compact mirrors)
I have no idea nor do I use any of the makeup I found in my purse. My older sister, on the other hand, continues to use her lipgloss... gross.

Office Supplies

(Scissors, paper clips, old pens)
I have no idea why I would stuff scissors in my purse. That was one of the things that I found the most surprising.

Personal Items

(Expired condoms, tampons, and pads, shavers, old pills)
You just never know when you need one, literally.

Food

(Old bags of chips, fresh and melted candy bars, and one empty container of Juicy Juice)
This one has my sister written all over it. At first, I was surprised but then I thought about how huge her purse was and then it all made sense.

Paper

(Old receipts, business cards, notes)
I am the most guilty of this. I am a hoarder when it comes to receipts because I believe in returning things. I know, I really shouldn't, but you never know when something decides to accidentally fall off a counter and break.

Bath & Body Works

I should not have to name what I had in my purse because I believe that every woman or anyone who consider themselves a woman has at least one item from Bath & Body Works in their purse. That is all.

Money

This is my most pleasurable surprise. I always tend to hide money from myself and it tends to hide at the bottom of my purse. Either it is loose change or paper, it is always a joyous moment.

I am pretty sure that I am leaving out more items but this is all that I can remember from that night. And thinking about it, I am sure that I am not the only one who gets an unintentional trip down memory lane while cleaning out your purse, trying to remember why in the hell you put it in there, to begin with.

I encourage everyone of you to go clean out your purse, and then comment some of the weird things that you find. Trust me, you will be surprised.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
