Last Friday (November 25th), The Weeknd blessed us with a new album titled "Starboy"! I've been with Abel since the beginning so I always get excited when he comes out with new music. I saw some mixed reviews about this album so I decided to see for myself what it was all about. I remember when the first single, "Starboy," came out I was a bit hesitant about it. After listening to it a few more times, it grew on me. For the rest of the songs on this album, I didn't really have to do that. This album has been on repeat ever since the day it came out! I don't want to bore you and comment on every single song so I will just highlight my top five songs. This is going to be tricky but I think I can do it. These are in no order at all by the way.

True Colors

Girl, come show me your true colors
Paint me a picture with your true colors
These are the questions of a new lover

It's clear that Abel wants to his love interest to be honest with him. The truth will come out eventually. He wants her to tell him about who she really is and not who she wants him to think she is. The song itself is very catchy and I love the melody.

Stargirl Interlude Featuring Lana Del Rey

I just want to see you shine 'cause I know you are a Stargirl

I wish this was a full song! One minute and fifty one seconds is far too short! The Weeknd and Lana Del Rey sound great together. I love when they collab and hope they will again in the future. I also loved how Lana posted a video of her singing along to the song on Instagram.

Nothing Without You

I was too busy tryna find you with someone else
The one I could've fled, to be with by myself
'Cause I'd be nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing without you

This song is a bit more emotional compared to the more upbeat ones like "Starboy" and "Party Monster." I always find myself belting out the lyrics when I listen to it. In this song, Abel is admitting that he loves the girl he is talking about and wants to stay with her forever hence the title. Maybe this song is about Bella Hadid? It's been recently rumored that they've split up though. :(

Die For You

Even though we're going through it
And it makes you feel alone
Just know that I would die for you

I think this song is so beautiful. Abel is taking about how painful it is to have to let go of someone you love. What's interesting about "Die For You" is although the lyrics are intense, the song has an upbeat feel to it. Again, this could be able Bella but then I don't want to assuming all these songs are about her.

Sidewalks Featuring Kendrick Lamar

Sidewalks saved my life
They don't ever lie
Sidewalks saved my life
They showed me all the signs

Sidewalks seem to be a metaphor that Abel and Kendrick both use to describe how they went from rags to riches. Abel grew up in a neighborhood that is know to be one of the most dangerous in Toronto and Kendrick grew up in Compton, California, also known to be dangerous. This was a great collaboration!

Overall, I like the vibe this album gives. I know there are fans that miss the Abel from The Trilogy but I like this Abel too. I highly recommend giving "Starboy" a listen. You won't regret it. It is definitely one of my favorite albums that has come out this year! Happy Listening!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
