5 Tips For Attending Rockfest Music Festival

Another rock mantra it seems, because a close Bunch of friends and I came from a festival not to far from my current residence, called Rockfest. I'm sure many of you have gone to these types of festivals before, but in case you have not, Rockfest is a series of concerts that feature rock, heavy metal, and hard rock bands from past, present, and future to create an experience of a lifetime.

This was my actual first rock concert(s) since I am so used to going to country concerts. I honestly prefer rock concerts, as you seem to meet people who instantly become friends based on your common music interests. The country concerts I have attended have not been as much of an experience as Rockfest, just because I never could get into them. If you like country, cool and I still love it. However, Rock music seems to be a connection between music fans, young or old, new attendees or recurring ones.

I will give you a few tips though if you are going to Rockfest, because there type of wickedly awesome festive vans happen in the mugginess of summer, where it could rain, become windy in 4 seconds flat, or just have the sun beat down on you until you are cooked lobster. Wanna beat the heat, lines of people, and just good concert going tips?

1. Always pack water

You are going to be thirsty and need more than soda or your favorite beer. Water is what keeps your body naturally cool and able to handle the heat of those music festivals. If you think you are packing too much water, you're not.

2. Bring more than one pair of shoes

I'm extremely glad that I brought more than my run down flip flops, because of the first night of the concert, it downpoured...

Being at least a good pair of walking shoes, because there may be gravel and of course, hot sidewalks.

3. Hats are a must

With the sun beating down on your porcelain skin, your beautiful untanned flesh with become a red lobster banquet. Be sure to have sunscreen and Benadryl in case you do get sunburned. It's not fun when you are trying to headband to Breaking Benjamin and your whole body feels on fire.

4. Bring a debit card

Since most places take credit or debit cards, it's a good idea to have both cash and a debit card. Some food booths only take cash, while others will take cards. Never bring one or the other, seriously... Bring both so you can buy band merch and a glow in the dark mug.

5. Going with friends

Most importantly, do not forget to bring your friends, family, and or significant others. They are the ones who make the experience, the bands are only part of it. You will make lasting memories with close friends. Just remember to have a drink or two and let the good times flow! It's your summer vacation away from school, a few days away from work, and just a few days away from your crazy, hectic life.

Why not escape for a bit? Just remember to laugh lots, live in the moment and forget stress even if it is just for a day.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
