10 Things We Forget To Thank Our Mothers For
Monique Lopez

Our mothers do so much for us, sometimes we notice it, sometimes we don't, and sometimes we forget to thank them. Being a mother is a full-time job, even if you are in college and out of the house, they are still doing so much for you. so here are some things that you should say thank you for.

1. Thank you for being my best friend.

At the end of the day, you are the one I run to. When I need boy advice, I take yours before I do anyone else. Our love our days out, and the silly selfies. I have friends, but you're the top. Thank you!

2. Thank you for being my biggest critic.

People say that your biggest critic is yourself, and although it is. You are too. You only want the best for me, so when something isn't to my best ability and it can be better, you tell me, you don't hold back and you make sure I do better.

3. Thank you for all the years of driving me around.

Shopping trips, sleepovers, parties, or just to get food, when I needed you to drive you did. Although I have my own car now, I never thanked you for it.

4. Thank you for being the super parent.

You are not only Mom, but you are dad too. You aren't like other parents, but you're a super mom! I couldn't thank you more!

5. Thank you for spending so much money.

You not only spend money on what's needed but on me. If I were to put together how much you've spent on me and give it back to you, you'd be a millionaire! So thank you for wasting all your money on silly things for me!

6. Thank you for teaching me to love everything and everyone around me.

Live each day and work harder than you did the day before, dream big, you can do anything you set your mind to, treat those how you want to be treated, love everyone, keep your friends closer and your enemies closer, don't even make enemies, make friends, help those in need, don't discriminate. So on and so forth. You taught me to love the world around me and to love the people around me no matter who they are or where they've come from. Thank you for making me love hard, and endlessly

7. OH! Thanks for the diaper changes.

I was kinda of just sitting here thinking of the great things you've done for me and you changing my diapers popped into my head, and that's really gross, so thanks for that!

8. Thank you for being my wings.

Without you, I wouldn't know how high I could fly, let alone know how capable I was of being able not to reach for the skies, or for the stars, but to reach for another galaxy and fly beyond that.

9. Thank you for giving up days with your friends for me.

Your friends were out doing fun things and you gave up those days for me, I not only feel guilty for those does, but I thank you for those days a million times!

10. Thank you for being you.

All a child can ask for is that their mother is just them. You are funny, caring, loving, a good mother and a good friend, and beautiful. I am who I am today because of you. You are the reason, and it's because you are you! Thank you!

I could go on, but I would have to make a book. You did and gave up so much for me. Thank you for everything you do and thank you for being the greatest mom anyone could ever ask for!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
