This past April, hundreds of people marched from Philadelphia to Washington, D.C. Thousands of people marched on Capitol Hill. Over 1,400 people were arrested in a mass act of civil disobedience, the largest to occur so far this century. Ben and Jerry, yes, the ice cream guys, were arrested with the rest of the protesters. Why you may ask? They were arrested for standing by democracy.

It's a democracy that we can all participate in. One where every voice counts. Where money does speak louder than wants and needs of the general population. Where politicians are not bought out by oil companies, big banks, and super delegates. Where corruption and back door scheming is no longer considered normal for DC or in any political sphere. We are a movement of nonviolent civil disobedience to create a democracy that works for all of us. We are Democracy Spring.

Following this past April, the movement is going back to Philadelphia for the Democratic National Convention. Here we are demanding a promise to remove to corruption from politics or face mass civil disobedience right outside their door. We only have a few demands to be met.

First, we demand to create universal voter registration so that everyone can participate in our governmental process.

Second, we are calling for publicly funded elections so everyone has a fair chance of running and having their voice heard.

Third, we want an end to Citizens United.

Finally, we seek to see to abolish the super delegate system so voters know who they are voting for and have more control over their election. Because it should be our election, not the delegates.

If you believe in this cause and these demands help the movement. Visit the Democracy Spring’s website to learn how to help. Pledge support for the movement. Ask your local congressman to pledge their support too. If possible attend a training session to learn more about the movement’s plans and how to protest. Then, attend one of the sit-ins or if you cannot risk arrest then attend the peaceful, legal, constitutionally entitled protest that accompanies it. Use social media with the hashtag, #DemocracySpring, to spread the message. Report on the movement yourself since news coverage is almost nonexistent. Let your voice in the fight for democracy free of corruption be heard by all. Let politicians know that we will keep engaging in acts of mass civil disobedience until we have a democracy that works for us all.

We are Democracy Spring and when we mobilize we will win.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
