If you’ve ever watched Parks & Rec or even seen gifs on the internet then you know of the wonderful Leslie Knope. And if you love Parks & Rec like I do then you’ll understand why everybody (especially me) wishes they could be Leslie sometimes.
Her genuine, quirky, passionate, loving, loyal, competitive, positive, opinionated, feminist, and fun nature never ceases to amuse and inspire me. She is herself in an uninhibited way; I believe she is almost incapable of being anything other than totally genuine. Leslie loves what she loves, and is not even a little bit hesitant to tell you about it.
or my personal favorite:
Then comes her passionate side. Leslie is passionate about waffles, friends, and work. (not necessarily in that order, as long as work is third). Her passion comes out in the oddest of ways but she is always giving it all she has.
She starts off in a low level government job in the Parks and Recreation department. Based off her enthusiasm, you would’ve thought she just became the president and fingers crossed she will someday.
Leslie is confident in her capabilities and is a shining example of girl power and feminism. Leslie has high expectations for herself but rarely ever doubts herself. She has no patience for an overbearing patriarchy or any sort of sexism. *snaps for Leslie*
Leslie Knope is one of the most loyal people I have ever seen. Let’s all recall her friendships for a second...Ron, Tom, April, and most importantly Ann Perkins. The way Leslie feels about Ann may be one of my favorite things about her. She treats Ann like she puts the stars in the sky; she is constantly complimenting her with a random string of words that is somehow meant to be loving.
Leslie treats her friends with an unconditional love and kindness and always does everything in her power to help them out (unless you’re Larry, Garry, Jerry Gergitch, but then what can you do ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ )
Leslie is always down for a good time and makes light of every situation. Even when maybe she does have flair for dramatics, she is never anything short of entertaining. There's something about her that makes you want to be better. With her lighthearted nature, it's easy to see why everybody wants a little more Leslie in their life.
