23 Things All Avid Readers Know To Be True

1. The characters really do stick with you. From the beginning to the end, those fictional people are there for you.

2. Series are definitely so much better than just one book. Because seriously, who wants to read just one novel and then have the story end?

3. It's possible to fall in love with fictional characters. Jace Herondale from "The Mortal Instruments"? Yes, please.

4. The books are so much better than the movies. Don't even try to argue this one.

5. Sometimes re-reading a book is totally worth it. You miss so many details you didn't even realize were there!

6. Meeting other people who love to read turns into a 45-minute discussion. It's even better when they love the same books as you.

7. You have stacks of books EVERYWHERE. Bookshelves cannot even contain your collections.

8. You share your collection with so many people, you've lost track of which books are actually yours. Sharing the joy with everyone else just makes you happy.

9. Paper books will always be better than an e-book. Nothing compares to the feel of a real book in your hands.

10. Bookstores and libraries are easily the best place go get lost. Hours upon hours can be spent there, much to everyone else's annoyance.

11. Bad days can be fixed by curling up with a cup of coffee and a good book. Seriously, next bad day, try it.

12. Waiting for a new book to come out feels like forever. Pre-ordering makes the wait seem even longer.

13. You can devour a book in a matter of hours. Just give me a dark room and some peace and quiet.

14. You secretly choose baby names based on your favorite characters. Where else could you possibly have found the name you never knew you loved?

15. You secretly have a vision of how characters look. Who cares if no one else sees them that way?

16. There's always that moment of disappointment when the actors who portray your favorite characters don't match your perfect vision of them. But you still have to see the movie for obvious reasons.

17. There will always be the one series you will read again and again, simply because you cannot let it go. "Harry Potter" forever!

18. When no one else understands your excitement over books, you just get annoyed. They are gifts people, come on!

19. You can always be found with a book in your hand, in your bag, or in your car. Except if you're me, you have multiple books everywhere.

20. You are sometimes reading three books at a time. There's only so much time but so many books!

21. Reading things for class are nowhere near as fun. Where's something with action?!

22. Nothing compares to the feeling after reading a good book. Whether it's happiness because of the way the book ended, or sadness that it's over, there's always a feeling of completeness after you finish that last sentence.

23. You put a book down with a new view on something. You can always learn some kind of lesson from reading.

Books are always there for people in a way that other people sometimes just can't be. Whether you read fiction, nonfiction, or even children's books, just the fact that you're reading is enough. Take the time, pick up a book, turn a few pages, open your mind to new adventures. I promise, it'll be worth it.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
