Are you in school or college, or you just feel your life is too busy and God is taking the back seat of your priorities?
First, realize that no one is “too busy." If you are too busy to read the Bible, it may not be as important to you as your other obligations. If you start to think of it in this way, you can get a better grasp on the reality of your priorities.
However, I do understand that we all live hectic, busy lives, and that it may be easier to start small in bettering your relationship with God. Here are some ways that you can slowly add a little bit more of Him into your day.
Pray: Pray to God that you want to open your life up to Him and invite Him to be more involved in your everyday life. Invite Him to be with you all day everyday, not just Sundays. Ask Him to show you what is keeping you from Him, and to help you rid yourself of those things.
Make small goals: Make a goal that you will pray every morning and night, or before every meal. Make a goal to read a devotional every morning or a bible passage. Something that you know you can attain right now, but that you can build off of and grow later.
Find a community of faith: Having people surrounding you to push you in your faith is an amazing way to build your relationship with God. Try to find a church, college group, bible study, etc. that you can find your people in. Don’t forget to make sure that you investigate their values and make sure they are speaking from the bible, etc.
Spend your first minutes of the day with God: Give your first 10-20 minutes of the day up to God, use this to pray, read the Bible, or worship. Doing this is a way to show that He is the priority of your day, not to mention: what could be a better way to start the day?
If you pray to God today and tell Him you want more of Him in your life and you're willing to do some of these things to get started on putting him on the top of your list; then you are well on your way to creating a better relationship with God even in your hectic life!
