7 Tips All Broke College Girls NEED To Design A Pinterest-Worthy Room On A Budget

Anyone who has Pinterest has a room design board that embodies what they wish was their actual room.

But, just because you are balling on a budget doesn't mean you have to miss out on having the room aesthetic that you want. Here are some ways you can create that dream bedroom without breaking the bank.

Who knows, you might be tempted to put your own room on Pinterest after trying these budget-friendly hacks.

1. Thrift Thrift Thrift

I have found some of the best room decors at thrift stores. Things like wicker baskets that can be used as wall decor or for storage are the easiest finds. Thrift stores also have the coolest mirrors that can become a huge staple piece in your room.

2. Get Crafty

Get artful and repurpose your items.

Repurposing items is so fun because you get to make them your own. You don't have to be a master crafter to do this. Buy a wooden dresser, nightstand, or makeup table from a thrift store and buy a paint color that will match the aesthetic of your room. Sand the piece of furniture down, paint it, and put a finish on it. Now you have a repurposed piece of furniture that looks and feels brand new.

This works for wall decor, too. Buy some picture frames, take the glass and back out, paint the frames fun colors, and attach a string to the back of the frame. Before you know it, you have some fun and funky wall decor.

3. Use What Nature Gave You

Dried flowers and leaves make the cutest and unique wall decor. Seriously, get some flowers or leaves, dry them out, and use tape to attach them to the wall. Super simple, and now you have a lovely boho chic flower wall.

4. Craft Stores Are Your Best Friend

Go to your local craft store and buy a few branches of fake leaves. Get some twine and cut it to your desired length. Take the leaves off of the branches and hang them on the twine using clothespins. Now you have a beautiful leaf garland at a very cheap price. Craft stores can be your best friend when it comes to getting creative with room decor. Pro tip: don't forget to use coupons.

5. The Little Details Count

You don't need to spend a ton of money on command hooks to hang everything up in your room. Using push pins to hang up your decor is simple, cost-effective, and a small way to add more character to your room. But remember to only hang lightweight decor with push pins.

6. Turn To Pinterest

Seriously though, Pinterest has the best ideas and will walk you through any DIY project.

Anything and everything you might want to do with your room, Pinterest will tell you how to do it all, and how to do it on a budget. You can simply look up "room design on a budget" and a ton of pins pop up of some really awesome low budget design hacks.

7. When In Doubt, Go To Home Goods

When you can find absolutely nothing of what you want at the thrift store, go to Home Goods. Home Goods has the cutest home decor, for a pretty decent price. Just be careful, because it will add up fast.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
