Sometimes summer comes along and you realize you never really planned anything. Sound familiar? If you're like me, I usually stay in Tallahassee most of the summer because I work and take summer classes. Being in town while it is summer does not always mean it has to be boring. There's so many places you can go that are less than 3 hours away and still find a way to beat this summer heat. If you're looking for some things to do for the next six-ish weeks then look no further! Take a look at some of the ideas I have compiled.
Grab a snow cone from Big Easy at Lake Ella.
GiphyThere are so many different flavors to choose from and you can even get them stuffed too!
Drive about 45 minutes to Wakulla Springs.
The cool water from the springs will keep you fresh and the clear water will make for good Instagram pics!
Take a trip to the FSU Rez.
The Rez is free for all enrolled FSU students. There is a wide range of activities you can do like kayaking and obstacles courses, and the best part? It's Free!
Need to feel the sand in your toes? Head to St. George Island!
GiphyThis is one of our popular beaches that is also nearby. You don't need to travel too far to get the tan you've been wanting. Grab your pals and gal-pals and make a beach trip!
Plan a trip to Wild Adventures.
This theme park is a little over an hour away and makes for a great trip if you're looking for thrills! Not only do they have roller coasters but they also have a water park with plenty of water slides to choose from.
