10 Ways To Make Someone's Day Just A Little Bit Better

There are around 7 billion people that live on planet Earth. Pretty amazing, right? That is a lot of people. How would you feel if, out of those billion people, you could make one smile? I would feel great. I would make myself smile making someone else smile. Here are some ways you can make someone smile, and make their day:

1. Give someone a compliment

It is not hard to compliment someone. You can say something like:

"You are looking great today"
"I really like that outfit, it suits you"
"I like how you did your hair"

2. Buy someone's coffee

When you are on a coffee run, or whenever you go to a coffee shop. If there is someone in front of you, buy their coffee. Coffee lovers will definitely appreciate it.

3. Help with their groceries

It does not take much to care. If you see someone struggling loading or unloading groceries from their car, give them a helping hand!

4. Giving someone a rose

Giving someone a rose, or any type of flower will definitely make their day. Let them know that they matter in this world.

5. Hold the door open for someone

This is one of the easiest things to do to make someone smile. Hold open the door for someone!

6. Tell a loved one they're loved

In my opinion, the feeling of being loved is one of the greatest feelings. Tell someone that you love them. I'd start with family members, but if you want to tell strangers, that's cool too.

7. Greet the mailman

The mailman is so unappreciated/unacknowledged sometimes. They always rush to deliver our packages and never get anything in return. So, if you see them, say Hi!

8. Smiles for everyone

I want you to try something new. When you are walking around town, or where ever you are at. Try not to look mad at the world. Give everyone that good smile of yours...but don't be creepy about it.

9. Take care of your drunk friend

Everyone never wants to be the babysitter for that one friend that can't hold their liquor. However, they are going to need you because they will never make it home without you. Take one for the team!

10. BE THE BEST YOU CAN BE

Always be you, and be the best that you can be. Give every task 110%, go the extra mile on a project, be the person oneself can look up too!

Doing the smallest things can make people smile the most. It does not take a million years, months or days to make someone smile. Just be genuine about it, and be confident. You may be one person, but it only takes one person to begin a change.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
