10 Ways To Stop Procrastinating And Start Getting Things Done

It is that time of year where everyone is counting down the days until summer. We have lost the most motivation because we have worked hard for almost the entire year. We wait to the last minute these days before our midnight deadline. We do anything but the assigned work we have to get done. Believe me, I feel your pain but we have to finish these weeks before we actually get some rest this summer. Our grades need to be good so it's not a good idea for us to be procrastinating before the end of the year. Below, you can read about 10 reasons that will help us not procrastinate.

Set timer on your phone

We all will get more work done if we understand.

Put phone on "Do Not Disturb"

do not disturb

Many times we get distracted about the constant notifications are phones always have on. Putting your phone on "Do Not Disturb" will solve this problem.

Make lists

to do

If we can cross each thing off our list, we will get more motivated to get our tasks done.

Make daily goals

goals

We each can make daily goals that will help us complete our larger tasks little by little each day.

Use your agenda

keep calm

When we use our agenda, it helps us keep more organized with all of our tasks and when they are each due.

Give yourself rewards

rewards

Once you complete you tasks then give yourself small rewards. You will be more motivated to get your tasks done if you know that you can have the candy you have been craving all day.

Limit social media use before getting work done

social media

We always tell ourselves that if we spend 10 minutes on social media then we will complete our work but let's all be honest then before we know it we have been on for an hour.

Wait to eat lunch or dinner before you get work done

dinner

We eat lunch or dinner then we are never motivated to do our work after. So try not to leave a ton of things to do after dinner because you will not be motivated.

Do not plan extra social activities to not get work done

friends activities

We would all love to do something fun every day and all day but then you will never finish your work. Don't wait until you spend time with all your friends all day and then try to make the midnight deadline.

Do not do other things instead of getting work done

Just try to avoid planning to do a lot of things if you know you have a look of work to do.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
