When I was in high school, I was usually the "child" of my friend groups. I would wander off and people would be worried about where I went. Sometimes, my personality shifts between being the "child" and the "mom" of friend groups. But lately, I'm becoming the latter. It's probably a result of being in college for a year, but we'll see.
1. Food.
You usually have snacks and juice boxes prepared when you go to the movie theater. Your friends are happy, but why the heck are you armed with juice boxes? Somehow, even though you're almost nineteen, you're still a kid too. Honest Kids juice boxes are totally cool to drink from.
2. Advice.
You give advice to some of your friends regarding what to do. Some of your friends say, "thanks, mom" when you give them advice. You're starting to question if this is the peak of your existence at the age of eighteen.
3. More advice.
You're basically a walk-in academic adviser to some of your friends. Why the heck you know more about the B.A. criterion for psychology and biology than the average human?
4. Accountability.
You make sure all your friends eat something, even though you're probably still drinking juice from your juice boxes or eating ice cream as a meal.
5. Sleep.
You make sure all your friends get some sleep, even though you're probably spending nights playing Steam games.
6. Event Planning.
There are a lot of times where you're hosting a get together and planning the details. Internally, you may not know what you're doing. But externally, you're on top of things.
7. Happiness.
You make sure your friends are happy when you all go to a party, engaging in random conversation just to make them feel less alone.
