Next On Your Watchlist: Crazy Ex-Girlfriend
CW

Summer is the right time to binge watch TV shows (because who needs to go outside, am I right?). You could watch shows like Game of Thrones or Stranger Things if you're not all caught up yet. However, I feel as if some shows are very underrated and need a bit of love from us. One of these shows is called Crazy Ex-Girlfriend!

Crazy Ex-Girlfriend is about, yes, a crazy ex-girlfriend named Rebecca Bunch (played by Rachel Bloom) who followed her old love Josh Chan (played by Vincent Rodriguez III) to his hometown West Covina, California. She makes new friends in her new town as she attempts to rekindle her love with Josh. It does sound a bit "crazy" and a little sexist, but trust me, it's a show much deeper than that. Here are 4, just 4, reasons why Crazy Ex-Girlfriend should be on your watchlist.

1. Musical Television

Crazy Ex-Girlfriend is basically musical television. There is at least 1 song in each episode and almost all of them are pretty catchy and funny. They advance the plot and mood of the series and episodes, so they're not really too random-- some even break the 4th wall. Also, no one is a bad singer either with cast members such as Santino Fontana (who plays Hans from Frozen).

2) Diverse Cast

The cast is pretty diverse with Rebecca identifying as jewish, and Josh Chan being identifying as filipino (which is rare for TV). It's not completely diverse, but it does reflect the diversity of the setting of the show--California. They also delve into other types of diversity such as sexuality and family dynamics with one of the supporting characters going through a divorce and even exploring their sexuality.

3) Comedy Gold

The whole premise of Crazy Ex-Girlfriend is pretty ridiculous and somewhat comedic, so it's pretty much expected that this show is hilarious. Not only are the musical numbers hilarious but the dialogue between characters is also hysterical! Crazy Ex-Girlfriend seems to hit all the right spots when it comes to comedy.

4) Thought Provoking Themes

Crazy Ex-Girlfriend is surprisingly deep when it wants to be. It hits themes of mental health and what true happiness is for someone, which can really hit home for some audience members. These themes can either be expressed via dialogue or song in a comedic or serious way. So, you might learn a life lesson or two when watching this show.

Crazy Ex-Girlfriend is a must-watch for you and your friends. It's funny, witty, catchy, and deep, and there's honestly no show like this. Crazy Ex-Girlfriend is on the debate of being cancelled by the CW, and it doesn't deserve the run it might get.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
