Clocks are constantly ticking and we're constantly watching them. I'm a strong believer in making every moment count, but that comes along with a fear of wasting moments, wasting time, of wasting time doing the wrong things, and being with the wrong people.
Of course it's inevitable to waste time; we're human, we make mistakes, and we do our best to learn from them and move on. It's when we're ignoring the lessons and refusing to grow from them. That is when time is blatently wasted.
Stop wasting your time on the wrong people. I believe our generation has a different philosophy on love and relationships than any other generation before. We glorify fighting, because we believe it shows passion, and we constantly want someone to fight for us. We throw everything on the line because we feel it's the only way to see if your significant other truly cares. We're completely comfortable with complication and conflict, it's almost like we couldn't go on without it. Nothing is simple anymore and we all have some type of history with one another. We go back to broken relationships and try to put them back together. You will not find happiness in the same place you lost it, you can not finish a puzzle by trying to cram a piece that isn't meant to fit. It will never work, no matter how many times you try.
We're wasting our time with the wrong people.
There is no weakness in forgiveness, and sometimes people do deserve a second chance. Sometimes the timing wasn't right and maybe this time it is. But how are we supposed to know? How do we know the difference between a genuine second chance and wasting our time? How do we know we're spending our time with the right people, how do we know we're doing what's best for us?
We don't. But we all have intuition, and a gut and a heart, and although sometimes it seems like some people don't, we all have a brain. We might be blind to others behavior and even blind to our own. But from my own personal experience, that's just an excuse. We pretend like we don't know better, but we're very self aware and choose to ignore the signs - at least I did. We hate to admit it, but we're wasting our time on the wrong people.
Stop wasting your time on the wrong people because you'll miss some chances, chances to be with someone really great because you're too busy breaking your own heart over and over again for someone who doesn't want to put it back together.
Stop wasting your time on the wrong people, and start wasting some time with the right ones.
