Whether it be when you are laying in bed for those extra five minutes, chilling out in your house or just waiting for something else to do during the day wherever you go, social media is around you. Whether you are the one who is on checking your Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, etc. Or someone else around you is checking theirs, social media is a bug that will never go away!
Ever since the invention of Facebook, it has practically taken over the world especially the world of teenagers around the globe. It is an outlet for those who want to do nothing but rant about their lives in any little way possible or for those who want to share some big news about an engagement, announcing the birth of a child or simple news like the passing of a test. While those types of posts are nice and fun to see because we can see the positive uplifting things that our friends are doing and experiencing, the other types of posts, those that are ranting and raving about all the small things that may be going wrong in their lives are much less appreciated and honestly, completely unwanted.
Social media can cause people to say and do so many things that they would otherwise never do and that it is kind of scary. It can cause fights to break out over simple little things but instead of using fists and physical punches, people punch with their words and those can do more damage than any physical punch ever could. While the invention of social media is a fantastic thing since we can now be connected with those we love at the touch of a button it has also caused those we love to be pushed to their edge at the touch of a button. When you push people to this edge it is not a good thing, it is then turning social media into a somewhat of a war that needs to be fought back against before more are hurt through it.
Facebook is not the only social media outlet, however; Instagram, Twitter, Tumblr, and one of the newest outlets, Snapchat are all examples of that people use in order to put themselves out into the world. But, these outlets can also cause as many problems as Facebook has. With all of those outlets you would think that people would eventually get tired of all that ranting about meaningless problems but they don't and really all that is happening is they do it more and more. Why? Honestly, probably because they like the attention and want more of it. And they do this by causing more and more problems through social media.
While it can be fun to get on Facebook or Snapchat and see what your friends are doing or give your friends an update about yourself, when you turn those platforms into a battleground instead of a fun way of communicating with those you love, it turns into a full blown warzone eventually. This is something that needs to be stopped because eventually it will be out of control and one day everything in someones world could come crashing down by the weight that is out on them through this social media battleground.
