I Want To Travel The World

I want to explore the depths of the earth. I want to go to places that catch my eye in pictures. I was born curious with a sense of adventure and longing for what's out there.

I remember going to different places in America as a child and just looking forward to a chance to discover new places, even if we were just going a couple hours away. I learn about different places and the culture existing within them, and I feel the need to plan on going there one day. I have not been out of the country, but that is going to change soon as I enjoy three weeks in Italy next month. And I am counting down the days to go, so that I can explore somewhere new. My main travel goal is to go to every state in America, but there are so many countries that have caused a tremendous interest in me.

When I say I have a passion for traveling, I mean that I want to go to places I have never imagined going to and meeting so many different people. I am so interested in different cultures and the way they interact with each other and celebrate their traditions. I want to experience the different oceans and mountains. Every time I go somewhere new, my heart grows and wants more.

I want my Pinterest boards to come to life. I have hundreds of pictures taken in places from Amsterdam to Montana. There are so many book stores, coffee shops, churches, restaurants, and national parks to explore. There's so many people out there that I have never even imagined meeting due to our cultural differences, and that just wants me to get to those places even more.

My wanderlust grows every single day as I see pictures or hear about different places around the world. I have a growing passion for what's out there, and I know that it is something that will never go away. Throughout my life, I will have a travel jar that I will fill with change and a certain amount of money each month. Each summer, I want to go somewhere new with my future family, and calm my cravings for what's out there. No matter what you do in the future or how much money you make, anybody is able to travel wherever they want. It just takes commitment, and traveling means so much to me that I could skip going out to eat or purchasing new clothes once in a while, so I can save to travel. Besides, the memories will be absolutely priceless.

If you want to travel the world, do it. Don't make excuses. God made every beautiful detail and place on this earth. If we do not explore it, we will miss out big time. Save up, let your traveling fears or anxieties slip away, and just wander. There is so much beauty and mystery out there.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
