Tis the season for snowy weather and shitty driving conditions! So, in honor of that, I've decided to put together a list of things you can do when you inevitably need to be towed out of a median at 12:30 am because snow is the devil.
1. Read articles on Odyssey!
Perhaps start with some of yours truly! Like this one: https://swoon.theodysseyonline.com/bisexuals-sick-...
2. Play games on your phone
One game you might want to try is BB-Tan. It's a good time killer!
3. Support causes you find important!
Possibly starting with the fight to save free internet! https://www.battleforthenet.com/breaktheinternet/#...
4. Write
I know not everyone enjoys writing as much as I do, but if you are upset, or frustrated, or sad, writing can positively channel those emotions. It's good to get them out, even if you're the only one that will see them.
5. Talk to your loved ones
After the events that took place to find you in need of a tow truck that may take four years to show, you might need some emotional support. What better way to get that then from the people you care about.
6. Listen to music
Whether you ironically listen to "Jesus Take the Wheel" or find something to make you forget about your traumatic experiences.
7. Watch Netflix!
Netflix's mobile app is perfect for these occasions. It's not ideal, but if you plug your phone into the auxiliary, you can have higher-quality sound to help you forget about the less than ideal circumstances.
8. Fantasize about the food you're going to eat when this is over
So. Much. Food.
9. Reminisce about your childhood, when you didn't have these car issues
Life was good back then.
10. Mentally direct the movie of your life
This tragic scene would feature me, played by Reese Witherspoon, crying tragically in her car on the side of the road, until my hunky tow truck driver pulls up (preferably played by James Franco).
11. Plan your dream vacation
Thinking of far-off places where the sun still shines and the breeze is warm.
12. Try to stay warm, while not draining your car
Alternate between keeping the heat on, and the car running, and conserving gas. Both are rather important.
13. Makeup parodies of songs, using this experience as your inspiration
"If I could slide, out of this ditch, then you know I'd drive a thousand miles to just eat food... again" (A Thousand Miles- Vanessa Carlton)
14. Dance badly to your favorite songs
Hope no one passing by assumes you're having a stroke because of it!
15. Cry
Sometimes, you gotta just let it out. The frustrations you're going through are real, and they are very upsetting. It's okay to cry.
