Wait.

I honestly hate that word. That is because I am so impatient. I hate waiting for anything. One thing my parents have always told me is to just be patient and wait and the right guy would come along. So many times I tried to make all the wrong guys be right. No matter how much you try to do that, it will never work.

Here are some things you should wait for, and I promise it will most definitely be worth it.

Wait for the guy who shakes your daddy's hand.

This is so important. A guy that doesn't have enough respect to shake your dad's hand, will not have respect for you.

Wait for the guy who buys you "just because flowers"

Or really anything on just some random Tuesday, because he is thinking about you. It's such a simple but sweet gesture.

Wait for the guy who makes you a priority

Someone who truly cares about you will always make time for you, no matter how busy their day is. Even if it's just a simple text to let you know they're thinking of you, or a visit to your work because you're on opposite schedules.

Wait for the guy who can make you laugh

Laughing is a must to live a healthy life. Wait for the guy who can genuinely make you laugh, whether it's his corny jokes or something that happened during the day. Find someone you can laugh with for the rest of your life.

Wait for the guy who kisses your forehead

Forehead kisses are just sweet. Along with cheek kisses, and a kiss on the hand.

Wait for the guy who gives you self-confidence

If a guy makes you feel insecure, he isn't the one. The right guy that comes along, will never let you feel bad about yourself. He will help you build your confidence.

Wait for the guy who compliments you

And with this, I don't mean physical appearance compliments. Sure, it's nice to be told you're beautiful, but being told that you make someone's day better, or they can't imagine their life without you is so much better. Wait for the guy that compliments your life, as well as you do his.

Wait for the guy who loves you for you

The right guy will love every single thing about you, just the way you are. He will never try to change you in any way. You will be able to be your complete self around him, without fear of judgement.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
