Vincey: one of the most loveable people that have ever walked this Earth. No matter the time of day, Vincey was willing to help everyone over herself. Her heart was on fire for the Lord. Her smile brighter than the sun. Her faith unshakeable. Those who knew her were blessed beyond comparison. Her sassy attitude was one to imitate. No matter who it was, Vincey didn’t find it difficult to share Christ’s love. Vincey was a game changer for the scripture Mark 16:15. She has impacted innumerable lives within her lifetime with her sunshine of a personality. She willingly loved with Lord and let everyone know it. Her heart overflowed for her church’s ministry. She was a leader. She loved her family and friends. This is just the tip of the iceberg.
I’m writing this to you today not because I am wanting you to feel pain, but to rather see that Vincey is still doing this, only in a different realm. Heaven couldn’t wait for Vincey to come and share her infectious love. Her calling to life here on Earth was finished. Vincey was always the one to finish things early. Not a moment am I surprised that she finished her life’s goal within the span of 21 short years. She’s dancing and praising. She’s in no more pain. Our minds in this life cannot even begin to grasp the concept of eternal life. Vincey now does and is cherishing every moment spent with her Heavenly father. There was a meaning for Vincey to be here in this life. She is where she is because our God was so generous to bless us with such a kind soul. Vincey was the person that knew for certain that she had a plan in life. Her confidence in Christ reminds me of a certain quote from C.S. Lewis’s "Mere Christianity," “If the whole universe has no meaning, we should never have found out that it has no meaning: just as, if there were no light in the universe and therefore no creatures with eyes, we should never know it was dark. Dark would be a word without meaning.” (Book II, Chapter 1)
Yes, we can be sad that Vincey is no longer with us. Yes, we can cry about how we can’t see her dance like a goofball until we meet her in the next life. But our hearts can be encouraged by the fact that Vincey is in the place that she deserved. It’s been a rough few days trying to figure out how someone who walked in such faith passed away so soon, but that’s the thing about faith: it is all about being uncertain where you are going, but trusting in someone who does. Vincey was the mere definition of this.
Let’s all remember the amazing times with Vincey and cherish them as much as we can. That’s what she would’ve wanted. Remember the goofy, sassy, joyful, and strong woman we shared a season of life with. After all, who isn’t affected by just knowing such a beautiful soul?
