Without a doubt, Bellingham Washington is one of my favorite places to be. There are so many things that bring me to this reasoning that I don't even know where to start.

For one thing, the overall location is almost too good to be true. Overlooking the bay, having beautiful lakes nearby, and it's just a short drive up to the mountains.

The aesthetic of the city itself is also so unique. Seeing all the differences between the areas, downtown, Fairhaven, Meridian, WWU, or Lakeway, is really such a neat experience. It also always gives you new areas to explore. Even though I've been downtown quite often, I swear I always see something new and exciting.

One of the ways that make a place different is when you see it in a different light… or no light at all. There's just a feeling I can't describe when you explore someplace in the dark. A mix of exciting, and peace. The difference between 2:00 pm and 2:00 am is amazing.

Just don't be dumb and go alone.

Below are the areas I need to explore this summer when the lights go out.

I don't know a time of the day this place isn't beautiful. Anyone up for a late night dip?

2. Whatcom Falls Park.

The sound of waterfalls in the dark is hard to compete with.

3. WWU's Red Square.

WWU's entire campus is beautiful when soaked in the moonlight. Layout on the bricks surrounding Fisher Fountain, look up, and relax.

4. Teddy Bear Cove.

Okay, first off if you do go here in the dark--be careful!! It's steep and there are train tracks. Aside from that though.. it's great.

5. The Sehome Arboretum Lookout.

Make sure you know how to get there before you venture out in the dark. There are hella trails that are easy to get turned around on.

6. Downtown.

There almost is never a dull moment downtown. Midnight picnic on the parkade anyone? Or maybe if it's the weekend go pick up some late night crepes?

7. Lake Padden Park.

A bit out of Bellingham... but the grass can be perfect for lounging on a blanket.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
