From winged eyeliner to waist clenching shirt and dresses, the style of the 1960’s is definitely evident in today's fashion. The 1960s were a time of the free spirit but also femininity and maturity, much like what 2015-2016 is showing to be. In today's society, we are looking for something to grab onto, something to hold, when it comes to normality. The 1960s definitely emulates that.

With shows like "Mad Men" and other 1960s-inspired TV and movies coming out recently, the 1960s definitely has to have an effect on today's fashion. Just look at flower prints — they’ve started reappearing for the past two seasons! Things like boxy small purses and brighter bigger patterns are also popping up again, and as for the beautiful looking shoes — oh, thank gosh they’re coming back.

The 1960s really took 2015 by the high waist. And trust me, we're looking fabulous! Remember when Target had their insane Lilly Pulitzer sale? I remember my mom and I tried going to Target extra early and everything was gone! The bright patterns and A-line dresses took the streets by storm, and its probably not stopping there. With iconic characters like Don Draper in the media, even the men’s clothing from the 1960s is reappearing, such as the long thin tie and very sophisticated two-button suit. There's also the preppy-ness of the era: cardigans, Sperrys, colored jeans, and of course, the good old Vineyard vines. There is no way you cannot tell this fashion is making a comeback, in a very good way, I might add.

The natural or semi natural hair also is back — thank gosh, as I was getting a little worried there. The updo is also becoming a very good trend along with the wonderful beehive, which in my opinion is the cutest thing. Also, here it is, the bob cut is back. Yes, I told you: it is back. Let's just see how long it's going to stay. Oh, and let's talk about the ‘man bun.’ Now that’s definitely going back to the late 60s and 70s!

You can definitely tell that these styles are coming back: just look around. Little hints are not only found in catalogues and on the runway but in little things like tall boots and colored pants. This era was a time for change and independence, which we are facing now. Maybe this 1960s fashion will bring this change and of course the classiness of the era.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
